Lancashire’s mysterious lake monster – latest update!

Back in November of last year I captured video footage of something inexplicable, moving erratically just below the surface of an old lake.

All manner of fascinating claims have come in from readers/viewers that scrutinised the article/video, but no one has really managed to nail exactly what the creature actually was.

More recently in April 2011 I visited the very same lake and as I was fishing something large popped up in the water for a few seconds and then disappeared shortly after I managed to take an impromptu picture.

This new image is not altered. I simply zoomed in to delete superfluous trees and shrubs at the edges of the frame. Make of this what you will; I offer no explanations!

I have still not succeeded in identifying the mobile creature travelling under the surface on my original video footage that I took last year.

The lake is mostly fresh water but it does have salt water flowing in at tidal periods.

The mystery continues.
