While living in Washington State in the late 1980s my family and I went camping on the Columbia River near Kalama, WA. The nuclear power plant along the Oregon side of the river was fully visible from the campground. We did not think anything of it at the time. During the first night, the sky was clear and we enjoyed the opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis, which was rather rare, even in Washington state.

The area was surrounded by a forest of fur and leafy trees and wildlife such as frogs and birds could be heard during the early evening.

On the second night we began to hear movement in the forest just a few feet from where our campsite was, it sounded like a small animal such as a raccoon moving about on the ground. At this point, nothing seemed to be unusual because raccoons and other small animals will scope out your campsite for any goodies that may have been left out.

On the 3rd. night, we were sitting around the campfire having coffee after dinner as we usually did shortly after sunset. We continued to hear the rustling of leaves and tree branches being moved in the distance as we did the night before. Then a man with his young son came running up to us and asked if we seen any strange animals near our site because as he explained, his family heard something moving around very close to their site but couldn't ever see them because they were so fast. We explained that we also heard noises in the forest a few yards away in the brush but not close enough to see anything. At this point we decided to stay up late and see exactly what kind of animal it was.

At about 12:AM we began to hear tree limbs close by being moved as if something was crawling along them. This was happening in several trees close by to our site. I grabbed a flashlight and pointed it towards the moving tree limbs. We could see nothing but limbs moving around. I then got into the car, turned the headlights on to the trees, and used the flashlight. To our amazement, we could see several tree branches move as if a small animal was moving along them but no animal just the limbs move with the weight of whatever it was.

Then we could see paw prints appearing seemingly out of nowhere along the ground close to us and we could see leaves move a few feet away from us as if small animals were walking towards us, but nothing was visible at all to make them. About this time the family from the site next to ours came running over, very excited and asked if we seen the invisible animals moving around in the trees, we told them yes whatever these animals were, were invisible. I told them whatever they are they were the size of raccoons, I could tell this because of the limb size that moved, and the paw prints left behind.

For the next several nights after returning home, my wife and I discussed the strangeness of these small invisible animals. Neither of us has ever experienced anything like this before even though both of us have had strange experiences that we could not define. We at the time never heard of any one experiencing an invisible creature. We were well read of strange happenings and encounters but this was one we had never heard of before.

I could find no information about invisible creatures or similar experiences anywhere. We concluded that the nearby Nuclear Power Plant must have effected whatever these animals were in some way. Somehow, these animals must have been exposed to some level of radiation at one time or another and made them invisible, or perhaps they were from another dimension.
